Present activities
Since 1.2.2010, I am interim Chief Strategy Officer of EIT ICT Labs. I also continue as Principal Scientist at the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology. I plan to be in the HIIT office on Thursdays and the other days in the EIT ICT Labs office.
In EIT ICT Labs, my job is to facilitate the creation of the initial Strategic Innovation Agenda for EIT ICT Labs and the first Annual Grant Agreement. This is a temporary position for the launch stage of EIT ICT Labs until a permanent nomination has been made.
At HIIT, I co-lead with Prof. Giulio Jacucci and Dr. Antti Oulasvirta the Ubiquitous Interaction research group.
In Aalto University, I direct the Future Internet Graduate School and chair the Professor's Council.

Other interests
Since 1999, I am on leave from my Chair of Information Technology at TKK, now in the care of Prof. Matti Hämäläinen. Until 31.12.2008 I was the Research Director of the Advanced Research Unit of HIIT.
