about me
Antti Oulasvirta is currently a Senior Researcher in the Helsinki Institute for Institute for Information Technology HIIT at Aalto University and the co-director of the Ubiquitous Interaction (Uix) group. He received a Ms.A. in Cognitive Science from University of Helsinki in 2001, and Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from University of Helsinki in 2006 under the supervision of Pertti Saariluoma. He was a postgraduate researcher at University of California, Berkeley’s Neuropsychology Lab in 2002-2003 under the direction of Arthur P. Shimamura, an intern in T-Labs in Berlin in 2006, and a postdoctoral scholar at the School of Information, University of California, Berkeley, in 2007-2008. His research focus lies at the intersection of human-computer interaction, mobile and ubuiquitous computing, and cognitive psychology. Antti Oulasvirta has authored over 20 journal articles and 40 conference articles. He is a recipient of Fulbright Grant for a Junior Scholar in 2006, voted by Finnish professors as one of the most promising young researchers in Finland, and won two best paper nominations at the ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems. He is a docent (adjunct faculty) in University of Helsinki and University of Jyväskylä.
