The hiit.fi website of Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT is subject to the EU’s accessibility directive and we are committed to providing a level of accessibility sufficient for the website’s intended target audience.
The current hiit.fi website was published on 9 May 2018. This accessibility statement was published on 4 March 2020.
Accessibility status of the hiit.fi website
The hiit.fi website largely meets the requirements for accessibility. The most significant deficiencies are the following:
- Some content is in the form of pdf files. Most of these files were published prior to 23 September 2018 and only a small proportion of new content is published in pdf format for practical reasons.
- Some images are missing descriptions (alt texts). Most of these images are decorative and our objective is to provide an alt text in all non-decorative images.
- Videos are not subtitled.
We are training our staff in providing content in accessible form and monitoring our website’s accessibility status.
