Creative Technologies Talks Inspire Innovation at Aalto University
This Creative Technology event series, part of an ongoing initiative to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, featured a diverse lineup of speakers who shared insights on the latest advancements in technology, design, and creativity. Covering topics such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and digital art, the talks provided attendees with a broad perspective on how technology intersects with creative practices. Each session included interactive Q&A segments, allowing participants to engage directly with experts and delve deeper into the subjects discussed.
In Spring, we initiated collaboration with the University of Helsinki Think Corner, featuring speakers on how AI reforms work, who has rights to work generated using AI, and on using AI for creating art. In connection with the last topic, the event hosted a demo of Voice In My Head by Kyle McDonald and Lauren Lee McCarthy.
In the Autumn, we brought the series of talks into the brand new Marsio Stage in the heart of Otaniemi Campus. The series, this time held in Finnish, delved into topics on how AI transforms making music and aesthetics, and the ethical implications of AI.
The Creative Technologies talks are accessible to a wider audience through live streaming and recorded videos available in the Aalto University YouTube channel, and in the Creative Technologies website. Building on the success of this series, the Creative Technologies joins forces with the MAGICS infrastructure and community to host similar events at the MAGICS consortium partners across Finland during 2025.
