Professor Kenneth Paterson from ETH Zurich will give the next HAIC talk on Post-Quantum Cryptography in Dipoli on Friday, the 1st November 16:30-18:00 (coffee and buns server from 16:00). As you may know, HAIC talks are intended for the general public. So his talk will not contain complex math or equations explaining the Shor’s allgorithm. Instead, he will focus on what the research community, standards organizations, and governments are doing about the threat to public-key cryptography if large quantum computers become available.

Please register so that we have enough coffee and buns for all of you: https://haic-talk-post-quantum-cryptography.eventbrite.com/

You can also follow the talk on social media: https://www.facebook.com/events/380340679509880/

Short speaker bio: Kenny is currently chairing the Crypto-Forum Research Group (CFRG) at the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF). CFRG is responsible for evaluating all new cryptographic algorithms and for making recommendations to the IETF (which then uses them in protocols such as TLS). He co-founded the Real World Cryptography series of workshops to support the development of this broad area and to strengthen the links between academia and industry.
