Juho Rousu to Become the Next Director of HIIT

Beginning January 2026,  Juho Rousu will become the next Director of HIIT for a fixed term 1.1.2026–31.7.2030.

Juho Rousu received his doctoral degree in Computer Science at the University of Helsinki in 2001. Rousu is an experienced academic leader with a track record of high quality scientific research. Rousu´s leadership experience includes the position of vice director of HIIT on two occasions (2016 - 2018 and 2022 onwards), vice - head of research of Aalto CS department (2016 - 18), director of core research in Aalto House of AI, and as acting as a research group leader for ca. 20 years. Rousu has worked as a professor both at Aalto University and the University of Helsinki.
