The equal career paths (NOW!) project aims to support and promote equal employment and career development of all genders. At Aalto University this project focuses on the field of technology, and uses a Service Design methodology and a design process in order to discover and show tech students’ and alumni’s gendered experiences in studies and their early careers. These methods are also used to co-create solutions that promote equal employment and career development with university policies, culture and services – especially in career counselling and support. In this event, Service Designer Riikka Jääskeläinen presents the results of the project’s first stages, and a concept for a service solution that will be piloted in the next phases of the project. In addition, we will discuss challenges specific to the academic career path.
