Algorithms control an increasing amount of decision-making in today’s computerized world. Against growing evidence on algorithms reproducing inequality, is transparency really the answer – or just hype? As to societal consequences of algorithmic predictions: what is the potential and what are the limitations of transparency in overcoming their systemic biases? These are some of the questions the newly starting Academy of Finland funded research project called Potential and Boundaries of Algorithmic Transparency (AlgoT) will be looking into.

Welcome to join the conversation, at the research project’s kickoff event at Tiedekulma (Yliopistonkatu 4), more precisely Think Lounge (2nd floor)!
