Struggling to write up your doctoral thesis? HIIT to the rescue!
HIIT recently introduced a new funding instrument for doctoral students in the process of finalizing their thesis. Since June 2021, it has been awarded to 5 doctoral students.
Finishing your doctoral thesis can be a stressful time, especially if you are running out of funding or need to work on an unrelated project. That is why HIIT introduced a new funding instrument to cover a doctoral student’s salary for a period of up to 3 months. The funding is intended to give doctoral students breathing space to finish their thesis write-up on a full-time basis. The funding is even available to doctoral students from HIIT who are currently outside of the university, so even those in employment can afford to take a leave of absence to finish their doctorates.
Since it was introduced in June 2021, support for doctoral thesis finalization has been granted to 5 doctoral students:
- Mikko Toivonen (University of Helsinki)
- Akash Kumar Dhaka (Aalto University)
- Krista Longi (University of Helsinki)
- Tung Vuong (University of Helsinki)
- Imtiaj Ahmed (University of Helsinki)
